A lovely spiced rum from Mauritius, Green Island Gold is fabulous in a Dirty Mojito!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Cloves and allspice, notes of vanilla too, with hints of mace, stem ginger and candied peels. Very inviting.

Palate Spiced and thick, very full with notes of buttery toffee with oodles of cinnamon, maple syrup and a little note of Golden Syrup too, with a core of cloves and nutmeg.

Finish Long and warming, notes of lime and pepper on the tail.

Quite a good substitute for pink pigeon
As Pink Pigeon rum doesn’t seem to be available anymore this is a good alternative, although you can tell it’s not quite as strong. It’s a nice spicy rum though and good value.

Near perfect spiced rum
Great stuff, the spices actually add something rather than disguising the rum. It’s an overused adjective but it has to be called smooth. There’s vanilla and I think a touch of chocolate in the taste. Lime on the finish.

Brings back memories....
Used to really enjoy Green Island rum on holidays in Mauritius (along with Blue Marlin beer). Nice tasting drink with coke - quite strong vanilla notes.
