An exceptional expression from the Gosling's range. Family Reserve was once produced exclusively for members of the Gosling family (as the name suggest), but they have since decided to share this fantastic top quality rum from Bermuda. Each bottle is hand labelled, dipped in wax, packed into boxes, stamped, put in the post box, you'll even hand pour it into your glass... This corking rum was given a Double Gold Medal at the 2005 San Francisco World Spirit Competition.
Rich, creamy aromas. Hints of calves leather, dark chocolate, candied orange and spice.
Thick notes of orange marmalade and molasses, bitter dark chocolate, cooked apples and black pepper. A little cedar.
Long, oaky finish.
Spiced, very fruity, but like... dried fruit. Not Minute Maid Raisins dried fruit. Dried fruit that you get from some fancy boutique that's dark and syrupy with thick droplets of sugary juice inside the packet. Primordial dried fruit. Definitely will put a hex on you if you don't buy it. Probably best to avoid and buy a bottle.
One of my few go to rums along with Boutique-y rum range which is beyond exceptional.
Wow, I bought this on the flash sale, I really enjoyed the story, the bottle design and reviews of this rum, so gave it a try, really amazing stuff, dark dark rum I think the colour it. The rum itself is so good Nose: rich creamy, strong fresh coffee, sweet, molasses, dark chocolate, Christmas spices, bandy in the back ground Palate: more of the same, sweet and rich and smooth, black coffee and dark chocolate very easy to drink no burn really, I really like this rum! it’s amazing stuff and comes with a really nice display box with there story, very good
IMO best rum out there , Stunning I think I cried when I finished my first bottle of this due to having no more left
Smooth, fruity a bit spicy. Quite interesting
