A Gold award winner at the 2003 International Rum Festival Awards. Gosling's Gold is a blend of pot still and continuous still spirits from Bermuda, aged for around five years.
The nose is of medium-body with notes of crème anglaise, stone fruits, dried peels, tropical fruit salad, toasty oak and a hint of spice. The palate is gentle and rounded with notes of zest and fruit salad, a little nut oil note with pepper and oak.
Dissappointing .really did not get the taste I was waiting for yes it is pleasant and goes down smoothly no harshness but even with the low price tag I wanted more from a goslings rum but that is not to say this rum is not drinkable, just do not expect to much from it .
A nice smooth rum, goes down easily enough but dissapointingly it's a bit bland. The flavours, when you do get them, are quite pleasant but they are very subtle and easily missed. I'd definitely recommend serving neat because even a small amount of ice will take away the flavours completely.
