The Washed Ashore collection from Fife's East Neuk Spirit Co. launches with this impressive single cask rum from Mauritius. Pot distilled from fermented sugar cane juice, the vibrant agricole style rum began its maturation in new French oak in the warm climes of Mauritius, before it was re-racked into a bourbon cask for a low, slow finish in the cooler UK climate.
This is a really smooth, quite complex, aged "Agricole" rum, and in my opinion, excellent value for money. Until I came across this, I had never heard of East Neuk Distillery, but for me this is a winner, especially at the price.
