Diplomático Exclusiva

A snazzy looking rum all the way from Venezuela, Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva is a molasses based rum that is distilled in copper pot stills and matured in whiskey barrels. Top stuff for sipping neat or over ice, but also a very good bottle to have on hand when rum cocktails are on the menu. If you're feeling particularly experimental, try using Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva in place of a whiskey in a Manhattan. It works excellently. This fab rum was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Sugar Cane Spirits Tasting Competition in Ybor City.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Aromatic with hints of sultanas, chocolate, Christmas cake and gingerbread. Offers up bananas and custard with time in the glass.

Palate Cocoa and vanilla, huge notes of oaky spice, brandy, plums and pepper.

Finish Sweet coffee, Demerara sugar and oak.

My first bottle...and not my last
A beautiful dark rum. Smooth, rich and complex. I waited before opening this as I had half a bottle of Havana Club 7 yr old to finish, but I opened it tonight (Nov 2024) and was really looking forward to it. It didn't disappoint. Drank it neat, after letting it breathe. It was beautifully warm, no burn, and the flavour just developed in the mouth. A wonderful dark rum.

Just lovely
My husband has tried several Caribbean rums but this is his favourite , the mouth feel and flavour he loves,Usually drinks it neat , occasionally over ice. The special offer was much appreciated.

I went to a rum festival and tried 20+ premium rums and this is definitely top 3. It is outstanding. Not your average rum. Smooth and tasty. Try it!

Rum....is made of sugar!!
Some very odd reviews.
Rum is made of sugar...OK it is distilled etc...but cannot see your problem. It is nor 'just a liqueur, not rum' . It is damned good rum.
Perhaps the complainers should sick to Lamb's Navy.

Perfect for a rum old fashioned
Love the Diplomatico Reserva exclusive. Great drink neat but personally love a rum old fashioned with Diplomatico or the Brugal 1888.

Highly recommended.
A really great rum. Full of flavour, incredibly smooth and a punchy aroma. Would recommend sipping neat without ice. I found that adding ice diluted the taste far too much.

This was the first time of trying Diplimatico and WOW a wonderful drink great on its own spicy with a hint of whisky smooth and herbal. I will keep one of these in at all times. This is a rum you can drink at anytime.
