Created in Banchory by two brothers, Jim and John Ewen, Dark Matter Spiced Rum is a molasses-based rum that features full-bodied notes of long pepper, fresh ginger, green peppercorns and allspice.

Nice tasting spiced rum bought as a gift. Smells really nice too
This rum is not for the faint hearted, this isn't a sickly sweet rum, but one that bites back. I like it neat or mixed with a hot chocolate, where it becomes a sublime drink, taking on the festive flavours of Lebkuchen.
Most awful unbalanced waste of money. Tried to palm it off on others, couldnt wait to finish it
A refreshing change from the over-sweet majority of spiced rums. It’s initially powerfully ginger and the aftertaste is of pepper. It’s a shock, but a good one. Despite other reviewers mentioning ‘cloves’, there’s none in there, as far as I know. It’s probably the Allspice that they’re tasting. If you like spiced rum that isn’t cloyingly sweet, then this is definitely worth trying
Heavy on the cloves. Very strong taste and a winter warmer. Nothing sweet about it. Might be alright for Christmas occasions but not something I like.
