Created in Banchory by two brothers, Jim and John Ewen, Dark Matter Spiced Rum is a molasses-based rum that features full-bodied notes of long pepper, fresh ginger, green peppercorns and allspice.

A bottle of Dark Matter...mixed with ginger ale, a slice of lime...along with some ice...Perfect.... but...not to be taken neat though...I did...I spewed my guts out.
I felt compelled to leave a review for Dark Matter after reading some reviews in here. It's my favourite spiced rum by far! It reminds me of Christmas - yes clove, but don't be put off for those non-clove lovers, but also ginger and warmth. In Wales we would say that it's like a Cwtch (hug). Drink it neat of course but goes so well with ginger ale and diet pepsi (rather than coke). Don't be put off by the mixed reviews, this is a high quality rum which feels like it's been prepared with a true love for the drink. Delicious.
Was bought this as a Christmas present and I wasn’t too keen at first taste but the further I get through the bottle the more it grows on me, now half way through the bottle and I’d certainly buy this again. Stronger to the taste (not %) than some of my other normal rums but still goes down smooth, a very strong clove taste throughout with a smokeyness to it.
