Description

Berry Bros. & Rudd’s Odyssey Range celebrates spirits that changed categories forever, and few names in rum command cult status like Caroni. Closed and demolished in 2002, the Trinidad distillery left behind a style of rum so heavy, funky, and industrial that surviving casks are now among the most sought-after in the world.

Distilled in Trinidad in 1997, this Caroni rum matured for 28 years before bottling at 58.3% ABV from cask #879. Just 130 bottles were produced.

Nose

Demerara sugar, charred mango, burnt pineapple, rubber tyre smoke, and caramelised fruit.

Palate

Thick and oily with tarry richness, barbecued tropical fruit, honeycomb, and smoky spice.

Finish

Long, muscular, and unmistakably Caroni with lingering rubber, molasses, and char.
