A higher strength rum from Australia's Bundaberg. The name "Overproof" refers to an archaic means of tasting the strength of a spirit. In the days of yore, gunpowder would be saturated with the spirit. If the powder did not flash when lit, it was deemed "underproof", if it flashed, it was "overproof". Instead, more technical tools are used to measure the proof these days, and anything over 50% abv is deemed overproof. This has more of the Bundy character in it, thanks to the extra potency.

I've been buying Bundaberg OP for last two years and LOVE IT the original is pretty good also. It strong and they don't sell it here in the States. The last two months everyone has been out of the Over Proof. Please get more in!! Down to last bottle of OP had to order 6 original to hold us over.. ITS A GREAT DRINK.
I have a bottle of this at home, use it in the workshop as Carbie Cleaner. As an Australian I'm always hiding my head in my hands when people hold this up on a pedestal as a fine example of Australian Rum. Some of the more expensive "Bundy's" are palatable, but this is genuinely terrible. Save yourself the trouble and fork out the extra pennies for an Angostura or something decent. If you must drink bundy, at least get the Redgum aged stuff.
I have traveled in many countries and this is my go to drink in Auzzie Land...I prefer it on ice. my be a little ginger but nice and cold...
Ignore the Bundy Troll below and give this a try. Stronger than the original in every sense. A superb rum. I'll always have some around.
