A spiced rum drink based on 16th and 17th century 'bumbo' recipes, Caribbean spices are added with no artificial flavourings or colours at all.
It's like if you soaked bananas in bottom shelf rum. But it's also sweet and drinkable and oh gosh the bottle is gone and I can't feel my face...
Used to love this rum it had a banana smell tasted amazing. You could see a cloudyness at the bottom which you knew was from the barrel and the flavours now when you smell it no banana smell and taste just like any cheap rum not happy at all wont buy again because i know they have changed something and it aint nice
I normally hang with the Captain or Jerry but for the special occasions, this Spiced Rum knocks it out the park, sweet but not over sweet, my preference is with coke, tried the Madagascan cola by fevertree and found that adds too much ‘spice’ each to their own. I’ve just ordered another bottle.
Don’t expect an original rum taste, it taste and smells completely unique, it reminds me of a tropical island Nose: un ripe bananas, tropical fruits, sugar, sweet sticky, a little classic rum Palate: straight away un ripe banana, caramel, tropical vibes, very sweet, subtle spices. I actually really enjoy it, like I said it tastes and smells completely unique and makes me think of a tropical island straight away. As long as you don’t expect a traditional rum. Great over ice and in cocktails
Due to lockdown I have been on a rum adventure . This is my favourite so far . High spice with a mellow come down when drunk neat. Shared with 2 friends and now have to order them a bottle each . Highly recommended. Mr “Tipped most of it down the sink” ,are you mental or just got a captain morgan taste for rum.
