Reviews for Facundo Exquisito
!! Changing my mind, Batch Problem !!
Update: I opened my new bottle and it’s not as good as the last one so I’m thinking a batch difference. This one has more roughness like it has significantly more younger Rum in it. I know this because I finished the last glass of my first bottle and then opened my new bottle and it was different to my first it’s also slightly more fruity but has a that burn you get from young rum still it’s not bad it’s still a great rum but just different. Because if it’s variability hit and miss batch problem I’m changing my mind at this prices I’d rather buy Ron Zapaca XO or even better there Reserva Limitada which comes out every year and master of malt have not gotten it thus far this year even though it’s out and available on other sites and it’s as good if not better than the Zacapa XO the other staple of great rums the El Dorado 21 Y/O. This rum is not worth the asking prices to much variation batch to batch and the alternatives are far more better quality sipping rums.

5 stars easily and hold its own.
I fundamentally disagree with what that reviewer said about this rum below. I’ve been around long enough to know when a rum is fantastic. One tasting is not really good enough to get to know a rum or a whisky for that matter and often enough the second glass is the best after this the flavour will diminish as the tongue gets used to the flavours. This rum is up there with the greats and stands on its own merits and holds it own quite comfortably and it is at 40% ABV so I’m thinking the reviewer has got this confused with another rum. Easily 5 stars no problem at all.

Delicious but overpriced
Easy-drinking, toffee-ish rather than sweet.

Lovely complex oak/spice on the nose. (One of those spirits where the glass smells good after you've finished it!)

I tasted this as part of a set of rum samples. I would definitely buy this rum if it was less expensive, but there are plenty of spirits at least as good for about half the price. I'd also like to taste this at >40%.
