Bacardi's premium rum release, the 8 year old is blended with rums aged for between 8 and 16 years.
The nose is fresh and perfumed with notes of oak and peels, a little syrup with a fennel note. The palate is sweet and rich with tropical fruits, peels and winter spice. The finish is gentle and luscious.

Very smooth and tasty. I have always been a bit of a rum snob, but this was very nice. I'd certainly recommend it.

First tasted it in Adelaide and now I'm hooked, so smooth, it doesn't need mixers or ice, just enjoy!

As others have said, the brand threw me off at first. This is nothing like any other Bacardi product and if it still bothers you after tasting it, turn the bottle around or put it in something more appealing! I've gone through so many high end rums over the past year and must say you really can't beat this for the price, especially in WA State where we are getting taxed like no other it seems. I am primarily a sipper and this is definitely perfect for that. Try it and if you don't like it, I'll take it!!!

Absolutely wonderful I gave a bottle to my friend. We normally drink 151 with Rose's lime w/coke. I had it on ice after we toasted his Birthday. Smoooth loved it also a nice price point.

Great as a sipper and as a mixer. I avoided trying Bacardi 8 due to reading mixed reviews. This is a solid 9/10 rum for me.

design is lame

It might not be quite as good as an El Dorado 12, Appleton Estate 12 or Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, but it's around £10 cheaper so for under £30 this is a great buy! Fantastic in an Old Fashioned. This has become my new day to day rum.

This rum meets bare minimum requirements for sipping, but only just. I would mix this rum, but would rather mix less expensive rums that are just as good when mixed. For sipping, in this price range, I'd go for an El Dorado 12 (which I believe to be superior to their 15)

I've tried all of the top rated rums and this one is fantastic...try it and you will be hooked

I usually keep a couple of bottles handy and fill a decanter full when I stock up. Its my everyday sipping rum and the bar that I expect aged rums to meet if they are to be bought again. Nice oaky almost bourbon feel to it with good vanilla and fruit notes. great level of burn at the end while still smooth, lets you know your sipping rum not just flavoring.

... sipping rum, but this was delicious. Was over at a friend's place and he brought out the bottle and a glass - it's smooth and probably a little too tasty. Went out a couple of days later and grabbed my own bottle. Like I say, not an experienced sipper of rum, but I really liked this!

very smooth with or without ice

This is my first foray into the world of sipping rum. Bacardi 8 is quite a nice rum no burn when drinking neat in fact quite smooth. If you are looking for a rum to start with on the sipping rum side of things you won't go far wrong with a bottle of Bacardi 8
