Rumbullion! Navy Strength

Ableforth's took their famous Rumbullion! and bottled it at Navy Strength to create a much much 'bigger' drink. This is a warming concoction that would no doubt give a sailor vim and vigour on a stormy night!

Rumbullion! Navy Strength is made using a secret recipe with a Caribbean rum at its spicy core. Expect big spicy flavours of cardamom, clove and vanilla in this legendary spiced rum.

Navy Strength is 57% abv. Many say that this was so that the gunpowder would still explode if the rum was spilt on it, but we can absolutely assure you that navy strength rum-soaked gunpowder is useless for firing cannon balls (not that we tried it... no, that would be dangerous).

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Incredibly intense. Buckets of vanilla combine with flamed orange zest. A spicy, rich nose with candied peels, cola syrup, cloves, cardamom and oak.

Palate An absolutely huge whack of high-proof spicy vanilla-laden complexity. Cola cubes, molasses and honey, cinnamon and crème caramel. Hints of Valencia oranges with cloves and mixed peels.

Finish An incredibly long finish, cinnamon, allspice and creamy custard apples.

Overall If there was ever going to be anything that could top the standard Rumbullion! this is it. The additional ABV will be a welcome boon to those used to cask-strength whiskies, and those who appreciate deep and intense flavours.

First taste of this tot
As a Royal Navy Veteran of 40+ years service, I have a few tots of rum in my travels. Rum Bullion Navy Strength hits you straight away with a zing of orange followed by a creamy clove wash of a pleasurable taste. Normally "spiced rums" are at the 30 to 40%vol however this tot is at the Navy's 57%vol, the same as the Pusser Rum, giving you a satisfying kick but with the smoothness of infused spices. Because of the aroma and taste this tot is best sipped neat to enjoy the tipple to its the full.

Superb Rum
A fabulous rum which should be sipped neat to get the best out of it. Lovely strong flavour which would be ruined by mixing with any other ‘liquid’ although of course this is down to the individual!

Strong, spicy, sweet, super sipper
Enjoyable sipper, goes well mixed with ginger beer, or coke.
The strength is subtle, compared to old J tiki this is far better.

Tastes Like Medicine
I like my spiced rum's and bourbon, love a wid turkey at 51% proof so tried this but unfortunately it is a thick gloopy mess of too strong alcohol that takes away from the flavour so much it is like drinking medicine as a child

Unlike any rum I've tried
Not as harsh as I'd have expected from a
57% rum. However it was quite sweet and cloying, more like a liquer on steroids. No rum flavour as such. Spicy vanilla orange flavour which overpowered any rum flavour. Vast difference in flavour when watered down even by a few drops.

Decent Rum but not near 5*
Keep the five stars for Caroni, Luxus status rums but as far as spiced rums go this is a solis 2.5/5 from me.
