Gem & Bolt Mezcal is made using espadín agave, but that's not all - it also features damiana, a traditional Mexican herb. The name comes from a story of how Mezcal came to be: a lightning bolt struck an agave piña, which roasted and fermented the sugars and created Mezcal.
Lightly smoky, though not intensely so. More vanilla-forward than most mezcal, with touches of vegetal oak and red pepper.

I found the gem and bolt to be an easy sipper. It didn't put my taste buds into a submission head lock like some mezcals do but it still delivered a very full flavorful experience with smoke and earth flavors with a slight herbal flowery hint.
