Del Maguey San Luis Bottling Note

A wonderful small-batch Mezcal bottled by Del Maguey as part of their single village range of Mezcals. This was distilled in San Luis del Rio in Oaxaca and it has a superb flavour.

Del Maguey San Luis del Rio Mezcal Reviews

Real Quality

I got shipped this accidentally when I ordered a bottle of the San Luis Del Rio La Crema. The La Crema is not recommended. This, is great.

Its very complex, smooth, smokey, and vegetative in taste. Also, very nicely balanced. I give a slight edge to the Chichicapa when it comes to this price point. The Chichicapa, although quite different in flavor, is my personal favorite of what I've tried. However, if you can afford this give it a try. 1/2 point taken off for price.

The best (so far...)

I have tried dozens of mezcals (both in the UK and Mexico) and this remains my favourite (so far...)

It has all of the complex layers of flavour that make mezcal so special and is incredibly smooth and easy drinking too.

If you like a more punchy, smoky flavour then Montelobos may be the right choice for you but this really is superb.
