Acqua Bianca

Dutch producer De Kuyper has teamed up with legendary bartender Salvatore Calabrese to create Acqua Bianca, a highly aromatic liqueur that was inspired by a recipe dating back to the 1800s. Its ingredients include a trio of citrus, including lemons from the Amalfi Coast, bergamot from Calabria, and cidron, which is said to be one of the oldest varieties of citrus. Also in the mix is essence of ambergris, the highly sought-after substance often used in the perfume industry. It can be served simply over ice, but of course it's rather handy in cocktails - Calabrese recommends trying it in a Stinger cocktail...

Peppermint creams, with floral citrus and waves of distinctive rose, supported by orange zest and a honeyed finish.

Reviews for Acqua Bianca
Rose petal squeezings
This is so intensely floral that there's almost nothing else to say about it.

Taken straight, as the producer recommends, this is too much like drinking perfume. As an addition to a martini or G&T, however, it adds a pleasant summer-garden element.

Good but very niche; one bottle will last you a long time.
