Warner Edwards Victoria's Rhubarb Gin

Warner Edwards Rhubarb Bottling Note

The Warner Edwards distillers in Northamptonshire have brought us another flavour of excellent gin - they've been rather prolific since they started in 2012, haven't they? This time, they've gone all regal and created Victoria's Rhubarb Gin, which uses a variety of rhubarb originally grown in Queen Victoria's garden, hence the name, as well as their Harrington Dry Gin. They also add just enough sugar to balance out the acidity from the rhubarb, producing a spirit with plenty of sweetness and some subtle, enjoyably sour notes emanate from the rhubarb.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Soft lemon, orris and nutmeg, all leading towards the full-bodied notes of fresh rhubarb.

Palate Tangy rhubarb once again is the star of the show, supported by a spicy blend of juniper, black pepper and cardamom.

Finish Vanilla pod and cooked rhubarb sweetness.

Delightful
I do not normally drink Gin. Tanquray made a gin called Malucca limited edition that was fabulous. Since then, I have never found a Gin worth drinking. Until I found Warner Edwards Rhubarb Gin. Delightful and refreshing. Can't wait till it is sold in the USA. But I can travel to to the UK if needed.

Flat but good base for other things
A good drinker but not sweet enough on its own...needs an elderflower presser top as a mixer to make it interesting

So good there are 3 full bottles just waiting to be drunk
Love it, tried it at a Laithwaites store near Christmas and bought a bottle. Everyone who tries it loves it,. Take it neat or if you want to lengthen your experience get some ginger ale. Sublime. Got a good offer going through duty free hence the number of bottles. I would have had more if I could have dropped the cash.

My absolute new favorite. I tried it in Edinburgh and brought some home. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it in the USA.

A delicious drink
A beautiful sipping gin instead of dessert! Gorgeous taste of sweet rhubarb sits in the mouth for some time. Excellent served with ice, a slice of lemon and a few pieces of fresh strawberries
