Tobermory Hebridean Gin is a small-batch-distilled gin from the Isle of Mull. Made in the Tobermory distillery that is better known for creating Scotch whisky. It features local botanicals including elderflower, tea and wild heather, and a dash of Tobermory new-make spirit, which is used more as another botanical rather than the full base. Initially made in a 60-litre still named Wee Mary, Tobermory Gin has a larger dedicated gin still in a stillhouse separate from the existing whisky-producing space.
Mixed peels, vanilla blossom and a hint of malty warmth.
Savoury elements sit up front - oily juniper, cardamom and kitchen herbs. Clean lemon zest and star anise notes cut through the herbaceousness.
Malty vanilla returns on the finish, with a touch of floral heather.
I've just made a brilliant decision. I only had one can of Fevertree Mediterranean tonic left and I found my freebie Tobermory Gin. Mixed together and voila - Heaven on a sunny afternoon. Perfect mix. Thank you. My new favourite. I will now have to wait to restock.
First tasted a sample of this, sent as a Christmas gift from Whisky Santa. Thank You :) It blew me away. It's crisp, and the flavours of heather and elderflower really cut through. Have since bought 2 bottles - for myself and a friend (which I plan to drink with him!!) There's something completely different about this gin to anything else I've ever tasted. I'm not poetic enough to do it justice really, and to say "it tastes like a fresh day on the Scottish west coast" seems a bit daft, but if you've ever experienced that, then I would hope it makes sense!!

I’m biased as my son was involved in the development of this gin... it’s got a very distinctive western isle feel to it... love the packaging
