“OH MY GOD! I have been searching for a true Neroli gin for over 6 years - none come close to this! An incredible, floral, fresh bouquet that takes you straight to Seville Spain! So fragrant and perfumed, this is my all time fav gin and I have been collecting for years. Just beautiful. Happy to pay the $$$$ in tax to have it sent to Australia anyday! Truly stunning and full of neroli (my all time favourite oil) flourishes. You have made me so incredibly happy. X”

Looking for a gin with massive floral influence, well-balanced by spicy juniper and refreshing fruit? This is what you want. Neroli Gin from That Boutique-y Gin Company is based around the deliciousness of Neroli oil, which is extracted from the blossom of the bitter orange tree through steam distillation. It takes over a tonne of flowers to produce just 1kg of oil, making it a rather expensive ingredient...

Nose

A huge floral opening is reminiscent of an expensive perfume, with tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom, before it becomes darker and develops waxy leather and a suggestion of clary sage.

Palate

In a syrupy delivery there’s luscious orange sherbet, fresh coriander and subtle juniper. Some candied liquorice, a little incense smoke and prickles of a herbaceous, warm spice form the backdrop.

Finish

Fresh and long, the floral notes of the nose persist among waning spices.

Overall

Constantly intriguing, there’s more depth and darkness than the floral beginnings suggest, a welcome variety of flavours develop with time.
