Neroli Gin TBGC Bottling Note

Looking for a gin with massive floral influence, well-balanced by spicy juniper and refreshing fruit? This is what you want. Neroli Gin from That Boutique-y Gin Company is based around the deliciousness of Neroli oil, which is extracted from the blossom of the bitter orange tree through steam distillation. It takes over a tonne of flowers to produce just 1kg of oil, making it a rather expensive ingredient...

Batch 1 is a release of 718 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: A huge floral opening is reminiscent of an expensive perfume, with tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom, before it becomes darker and develops waxy leather and a suggestion of clary sage.

Palate: In a syrupy delivery there’s luscious orange sherbet, fresh coriander and subtle juniper. Some candied liquorice, a little incense smoke and prickles of a herbaceous, warm spice form the backdrop.

Finish: Fresh and long, the floral notes of the nose persist among waning spices.

Overall: Constantly intriguing, there’s more depth and darkness than the floral beginnings suggest, a welcome variety of flavours develop with time.

Neroli Gin (That Boutique-y Gin Company) Reviews

Very floral

An intensely floral gin (to be expected I suppose..!) but too overpowering/cleaning product for us. We started with a sample and couldn’t finish it. And I’ve tried a lot of gins.
If you like floral botanicals then this is probably for you but if not, steer clear.

Exotic and floral

Beautiful orangey floral taste. Delicate, exotic and not overpowering.
Drank with aromatic tonic and a slice of grapefruit

Perfect and relaxes the body and soul

I absolutely love this. I finished the whole 500ml in a week. If you love Neroli, it's impossible not to love this gin. My significant other is not of the same mind, which suits me rather well. One of my favourites - just breathing in the aroma is relaxing. Heaven, and I don't even have to share. Reading the reviews, it's a crowd-splitter but I adore it.

Drinkable Floral spa experience

Still getting through my Advent calendar bottles. (not many left now) this gin is strange. Tastes and smells like something that should be in my bath water (big fan of Bath bombs containing Neroli oil) or in a Spa. however it's strangely pleasing. I've teamed it with the Fevertree Clementine and cinnamon tonic water and it does taste pretty amazing. I'd recommend it. Maybe buy the sample first before you commit. But it's definitely good.

Seriously weird!!

Oh my! If you want to try an exciting, unusually flavoured gin, go for this. But maybe buy a sample first! It is by far the most unusual and overpowering gin I’ve ever tasted. It is a heady explosion of purfumed smells and tastes (maybe the neroli?), with a hint of spice, which is just far too much for me. I felt like I was taking medicine while my gran sprayed her perfume in my face! And I usually quite like flowery tastes & flavoured gins. Those of you who dislike Bloom had better give this a wide birth. It’s Bloom on steroids! I had two sips and had to pour the glass away. Though I have saved the rest to entertain myself by making people try it who come to the house. I’ve given it 3 stars though as I accept it is down to taste.

All the neroli

Neroli is such an overpowering botanical but here it's perfectly balanced and works well with the subtle juniper from the base spirit.

Good work folks
