Smooth Ambler Greenbrier Bottling Note

An initially citrus-led gin with soft juniper character. It's produced by Smooth Ambler, a fantastic craft distillery situated in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, up in the picturesque Appalachian Mountains.

This small but state-of-the-art distillery like to do things the right way and this grain to glass, small batch gin is no exception. The base spirit is made from 68% corn, 16% wheat, 16% malted barley and the botanicals used are juniper, orange peel, lemon peel, cardamom, coriander, angelica root and black pepper. It was rated 91/100 by American Craft Spirits.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Clean, inviting citrus and a touch of sweet malt. Soft black pepper notes develop.

Palate: Tremendous texture and smoothness. Soft angelica and a little cotton candy.

Finish: Fresh with minerality. Very, very nice indeed!

Overall: Unique and oozing with Appalachian freshness.

User Reviews of the Smooth Ambler Greenbrier Gin

Lots to love.

Love this gin. Great flavor. Wonder if I will ever break open the bottle from BATCH #1 that I have?

So much character

The base spirit is so evident in this gin - it's a hugely rewarding thing. Delicious.

This is a superb example - the richness of the base spirit contributes just so much to the overall proposition - the creaminess is great. This is one of the better versions in my view - the base spirit is obviously different, yet restained enough not to be 'challenging'.
