Sharish Blue Magic Gin Bottling Note

A bright blue Portuguese gin from the Sharish range - the magnificent colour comes from extracts of a flower known as blue pea, and when you mix the gin with tonic, it turns pink! Botanicals also include juniper, coriander, angelica root, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, lemon peel, strawberry and raspberry.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Loads of raspberry and strawberry notes up front. Stem ginger and coriander arrive in support, but the berries are the main attraction here.

Palate: Quite spicy at first - cinnamon and more ginger. Waves of lemon and angelica develop. Another burst of juicy berry notes later on.

Finish: Soft juniper and a pinch of leafy coriander.

Sharish Blue Magic Gin Reviews

Fantastico

Add a few reasoberrues instead of lemon/lime .. gorg ous

Try it.

This is probably my favorite gin. Picked up a bottle in Porto, Portugal just because it looked neat but, wow, this gin is legit! If you like Hendrix, definitely give this a try. It’s herbal and has a cucumbery aftertaste but hits on some fruity notes you don’t get in Hendrix. This is very easy to drink and very tasty! Excellent with tonic or straight.

Magic by name. Smooth by nature

Magic gin lives up to it's name. Apart from the colour change, this gin is deliciously smooth and refreshing served with blueberries and a light tonic

Loved it - getting more!

Smooth and Gentle with memories of childhood in the flavour. Went down easily with little of the perfumed taste of many Gins. Loved it

Delightful

Beautiful and a nuisance to try and locate in bottle-shops in Australia.

One of many lovely gins in the ginvent calendar last year but one of the most memorable. Not super dry, not too floral, but very smooth and a refreshing and lovely flavour.

Bought recently on a visit to Portugal and what an amazing suprise .We mixed it with pomigranite and grapefruit and WOW !!!

Good gin, delicate.

Beautiful flavour, good nose. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed it but we wonder why there was no ' Magic'?
No change of colour at all, anyone help us out here. Our only thought was the use of a slimline tonic.

12th February 2017

Excellent

It's smooth and initially subtle, but has nice floral after taste, that tastes of raspberries and lemon, but it's not to over powering.

DElicious!!!

Most amazing gin.
I generally don't like gin, but I tried this in my husbands Ginvent calendar and was so won over I bought a bottle to share with the family over xmas. Everyone who tried it loved it.
The only thing that does raise a few eyebrows is the name of the flower that gives the drink its colour!

Excellent.

One of the nicest gins I've had the pleasure of trying. But if you prefer dry gins without strong botanicals give it a miss (more for me). Has a excellent summery floral flavour. The colour changing properties are just a fun bonus.
