Isle of Raasay Gin

The inaugural gin from Isle of Raasay Distillery, fittingly dubbed Isle of Raasay Gin! A tipple of firsts, it's also the very first spirit to be legally distilled on the island, which has a long history of illicit distilling. Among the 10 botanicals are local Raasay juniper, rhubarb root and even Raasay triple distilled spirit. Delicious stuff from the Hebrides.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Dry and woody juniper initially, followed by tart rhubarb, sweeter citrus peel and a dry and tangy finish.

Reviews for Isle of Raasay Gin
A new favourite
Lovely gin. Fresh and citrus note.

Light and refreshing
I'm not sure why the couple of bad reviews, maybe because one drinks Gordon's.
This is a wonderful juniper and citrus light gin. Very refreshing with a fever tree light tonic, plenty ice and garnish with orange peel.

Crisp and refreshing
Very easy to drink
Great with orange or lemon and a light tonic
Whilst there is no big hit or depth, it is very refreshing and smooth
Who on earth would compare this to Gordon’s - get off this page

Light, subtle and refreshing.
A very subtle flavoured gin with a citrus finish and what I can only describe as sort of hints of rose both on the nose and palate (predominately on the nose). It would get lost (imo) with a flavoured tonic so I just put it with a light traditional tonic. Pleasant and refreshing rather than stand-out.

A matter of personal taste
Tasted at the distillery, where I was sure there was a faint hint of peat....
I still think so, as I work my way through the bottle that came home to Ireland with me and is currently part of a collection that includes a couple of gin-mistakes!

A smooth, elegant, citrusy gin. Absolutely lovely and very easy to drink indeed!

Been drinking Gin for 35 years, this is the worst
The worst Gin I've ever tasted and I've tried several hundred over the 35+ years I've been drinking

Lacks Complexity
Quite a basic Gin, lacks depth and complexity however an alternative to Gordon’s. Dissapointing

Amazing
Best gin going! So much smoother than your typical juniper led gin. A lovely Scottish island spirit.

Tasteless
This is a very strange gin, in that it tastes of nothing! Maybe it’s too subtle but all I could taste was tonic. Don’t bother with it.
