Brecon Botanicals Gin Bottling Note

Brecon Botanicals Gin is a tasty Welsh gin made at the Penderyn distillery. It is based on pure grain spirit and a special selection of botanicals. The illustrations were specially engraved and re-produced for this special edition. Very interesting stuff.

Brecon Botanicals Gin Reviews

Will buy it again

Very smooth, lovely flavour.

Fantastic gin

Absolutely the best gin I have tasted. Tried lots of gins in this price range and Brecon botanicals comes out tops in my opinion. No after taste just smooth

Great all rounder

It's good to have this ( or the special reserve) on hand as it's great in many occasions. A dash of elderflower cordial, slice of cucumber and tonic and it's spot on.

However it's also equally nice with a slice of orange. There arnt many gins I'd say can deliver both those different flavours so for thag reason it's a must have for the cupboard, even if just to be a backup.

Great gin at a great price

Absolutely loved this Gin. Very well priced baring in mind it has notes of silent pools about it. For the price this Gin is go to for any occasion. The only issue I found is that the bottle is really tall and won't fit in my gin bar. A small price to pay😁

Tickled by the 1-star review

So someone bought this gin without reading the label or learning anything about it, and then they proceeded to punish the distillery and Master of Malt with a one-star review. Classic. This is a fantastic gin -- and yes, there's some lovely coriander on the "pallet" [sic].

Beautiful Gin.

Quality gin at a good price.

Smooth and lively at the same time. Juniper nose, and excellent finish. Recommended.

Subtle labelling....

Bought what we thought was our favourite Bonaicals gin but when we got it home found that it was the 'Special Edition' very subtle labelling, not good, too coriander for our pallet. Is the original still made, very confusing. Not happy with the brand.

Rounded and interesting

I love the martini it makes. Just a rinse of dry vermouth, lemon peel squeezed over it and chucked away. It's an interesting flavour experience. Even when it loses its chill it's good- develops a certain richness. At the last drop I noticed it was slightly viscose; which was pleasant bonus. Straight, it tastes classically 'gin'. Slightly sweet, bit of liquorice (possibly that's the 'vodka' base), citrus, juniper, hint of pepper? Balanced. Warming. Great with Fever Tree. It's 43% and my local Tesco were punting it out at £17.

Nice Gin This

Have just bought a bottle of this on spec. What a pleasing surprise. Neat without ice it is really flavourful and quite what you would call a 'winter warmer' with bags of depth and warmth. With tonic, lime & ice it is a good summer drink with a nice range of notes. It is May 2019 so we have had hail and warm sunshine in the same afternoon so I've tried it both ways in one day and there is nothing not to like about it. Dive in!

A leading gin it is

Tried a bottle of this last week and it’s a perfect gin in my opinion. Nice subtle flavours - my new favourite closely followed by chase.

Class act.

Just had my first taste (neat) and am very impressed. Lovely bottle and a local product, so 'had to buy it' didn't I? Feared though it might be perfumed, or sweet, or over-citrusssy, but none of these. Must invest...

Brecon Botanical is the best ever !

I have to say I love gin !
It's also fair to say I've tried quite a few different varieties, but out of them all Brecon Botanicals with Elderflower Fever-Tree tonic is my absolute favourite hands down !
Buy a bottle or two as you certainly won't be disappointed !!

The best ever!

I saw this gin bottle “BRECON” in the supermarket (Morrison’s” ) today as I was putting my usual monthly (?) bottle of gin into the basket. I had never seen it before and it was also 43%. I decant my gin into 50ml miniatures.
I have just been drinking it with Fever-Tree tonic water. It is the best gin I have ever tasted!

Got me back into gin.

Not a big gin person normally but this was on offer in Tesco for £20... I can only say, if you get the chance, buy several bottles. Really lively flavours and completely lacking the bitterness that you kind of get used to from cheaper gins. Obviously most went into G+Ts but it was so nice I did sip a couple of glasses neat.

Absolutely delicious flavoursome gin!

Wonderfully smooth, lovely aroma - best tasting gin I've had in a long time - absolutely delicious with tonic, ice and lemon!

Best gin I've tried and I've tried more than a few, hic!!

This is an amazing gin and I'm glad I found it, I've tried a lot of the last decade or so buying a different bottle each purchase and have to say this is one of the best I've ever had to date.

Best most flavoursome subtle gin

I absolutely love this Gin I am normally Tanqueray 10 girl but try this- good slosh of gin, small tipple of elderflower cordial and lime cordial lots of ice and topped up with Fever Tree Tonic - and a slice of lime -SUBLIME!

6th September 2015

Outstanding gin

Works perfectly in a Martini or with a Fever Tree tonic. It has the perfect balance between Juniper and modern citrus and spices.

15th April 2015

A quality gin

This is one of the most pleasant gins I have ever tasted. It is a gin that can be sipped alone! It could almost be a liquer. But of course we all have different palates and tastes. But I can honestly say I would definitely buy this gin again and again. It is quality.
