Kirkjuvagr Harpa Gin

Kirkjuvagr Harpa Gin (it's pronounced 'kirk-u-vaar' - you're welcome) was inspired by the ancient, seafaring qualities of the Orkney people. It was distilled in small batches in traditional copper stills using a range of locally grown botanicals (many grown in conjunction with the University of Highlands and Islands Agronomy Institute), including juniper, crow berries, aronia berries and lemon peel.

The name Kirkjuvagr is an old Norse word for 'Church Bay' and is also the Norse name for Kirkwell, the home town of the husband-wife couple who created this gin. Harpa was the first summer month in the Viking calendar, which fell between April and May each year.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Bright and fresh lemon peel, juniper and floral notes provide classic gin notes among a hint of fresh sea air.
