Mary Rose Gin Bottling Note

Mary Rose Gin from the HMS Spirits Company is a London Dry Gin that prominently features floral wafts of rosemary and punchy grapefruit among its botanical selection. Stands up well to all manner of classic mixers.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Citrus oily sits at the fore, backed up by heady waves of freshly-picked rosemary. A crackle of peppery juniper fits right in.

Mary Rose Gin Reviews

Superb with Jeffrey's Not So Plain

We also tasted this at Tatton Park yesterday and it paired absolutely superbly with our Jeffrey's Not So Plain - an amazing mix of flavour comes flooding through!

Smooth and very palatable

Tried quite a few Gins at Tatton Park Foodie Festival yesterday.....& this was by far my favourite.......
Bought three bottles between us and my sister bought me a limited edition for my upcoming 65th birthday...

Bitter taste

Had one of the first batch and it was smooth. Bought another bottle recently and the bitterness of the rosemary left a off taste. Tried it with a few different mixers and managed to hide the taste, but you shouldn't need to hide the flavour of a good gin!

Tried this today at NFS - Decent enough but not quite as smooth as I'd expect. Good nevertheless

nowt fancy for the price

im big fan of gin and love to try something different but really disapointed that this didnt justify the price tag.. dont get me wrong its better than bombay but aint quite premium to be sold at 40quid for 500ml!!

Love this gin!!!!!

Can’t stop drinking this stuff! Love the rosemary flavour! I never thought I’d be drinking gin with just a cube of ice but after a reccomendadtion of giving this gin a go neet I just can turn back!

Soooooo Nice

A stunning Gin can't wait for the next blend which I hear is imminent

Distinctly Unrefined Gin

There are too many of these new spirits being launched which are just an example of unrefined production techniques with overpowering citrus flavours (and rosemary in this case) and not Juniper!

Added to that, while a higher oil content is typically a good thing, the producer has needlessly gone too far, certainly too far with rosemary and citrus for it to be a London dry.

Anyone can produce a Gin with overpowering flavours (probably to mask the quality) but it takes skill to get a subtle balance, which this sadly fails at miserably.

Smoooooooth

Loving this gin! Just came across it the other day at a local gin bar. Was trying a few of the many available and for me this one did the trick. So smooth to drink compared to some others, I know this as the barman had me try them all neat first. Glad I’ve found it online now and will be getting a bottle in the very near future.

Well balanced and drinkable neat

It's not often I write a review but was very impressed with this new entrant to the market. The subtle balance between citrus and touch of rosemary works perfectly and the oil content left it lingering on the palate. It makes a fantastic martini and my wife reused the stunning bottle as a reed diffuser.

Lovely combo of botanicals

A new gin to me, so a little curious to start but it’s going down well. I like the combination of rosemary and grapefruit and to my surprise both were distinctive and one wasn’t lost. The oil content has been well maintained in this gin and that makes it smooth to drink. I wouldn’t normally drink gin on its own but I can now.

Good allrounder

One of the best gins I’ve ever tried!!

15th February 2018

High oil content, lacks balance for the price

Rosemary oil is rather heavy which can seem somewhat harsh with anything but a very sweet tonic. Not really the right character of a London dry but nonetheless it is a 'different' gin. The high oil content is admirable, yet it smacks that this is the principle aim rather than focusing on the right balance of oils leaving it with other gins of the inexperienced gin maker.

My new go too.

Im Absolutly hooked on this stuff! It’s so smooth and the taste is amazing. I love this combo of a herb and a fruit.

The best gin I have tried, absolutely lovely

This has to be one of the nicest gins that I've tried! well balanced flavour with that lovely edge of grapefruit and rosemary. I would highly recommend trying this!
