Banyuls Cask-Aged Gin (Lost Parcels)
The Lost Parcels collection specialises in saving small batches of rare and obscure spirits, ensuring they can be enjoyed, and not forgotten forevermore. This one is a gin that spent 19 months resting in a cask, and that cask previously held Banyuls sweet fortified wine from France. A release of 46 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
A nutty start with roasted almonds and toasted hazelnuts, with piney juniper in tow. Soft stone fruits and creamy caramel nestle beneath.
Palate
Butterscotch, peaches, and soft plums balance juniper berries and dried petals, with notes of prunes and toasted oak developing in time.
Finish
Delicate notes of caramelised brown sugar, oily juniper, and woody spice, with sweet cooked fruits lingering.
