LoneWolf Gin (Old Bottle) Bottling Note

Not even the craft beer superstars at BrewDog are safe from the bewitching charms of distillation. They've got stills and they're getting the in craft spirits game! LoneWolf Gin is made with their own malted barley spirit, and features a selection of botanicals including juniper, Thai lemongrass, Makrut lime leaf, angelica, coriander, cardamom, pink peppercorn, almond, lavender, fresh lemon and red grapefruit peels, mace and Scots pine needles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

A creamy mouthfeel carries hot spices and oily juniper, with a deftly balancing citrus influence. Dig a little deeper and the earthy-though-refreshing notes of lemongrass and lime leaf take control.

LoneWolf Gin (Old Bottle) Reviews

Very nice

A solid gin with citrus and pine notes in addition to a standard strong juniper.

Bold, aromatic and it makes the ultimate Martini.

For me, this gin is had to beat. Love it. Interesting comments from others. It’s almost a marmite gin!

Tried the pre made cans and it was like drinking musky perfume.

24th June 2019

Pretty standard

Did not get excited about this! Back to the lab boys!

This gin is seriously fabulous - I appreciate serious malt whisky and this gin has the same complexity and naturalness. Addition of pine needles and siciliana lemon is genius.

Excellent - and I know what im talking about!!!

Standard London

A perfect ready mixed.

The ready mixed can I tried was excellent. This is the G & T I've tried (In vain) to create myself for years. It's a really good sweet/dry balance. Highly recommended.

2 Stars

Lacks balance and a crisp finish to leave memorable notes. Strong juniper vibes but little to challenge the flavour.

Not for me

Extremely harsh on the taste buds, heaps better out there

Basically not much more than a London, so needs punching up with flavoured tonics

Smooth, citrus toned refined gin

My favourite gin! I love the subtle citrus undertones, although ideally served with lone wolf tonic and pink grapefruit I also favour a mix with clementine garnish and Fevertree clementine tonic, yummmm

Excellent. Full of comolex flavour.

Excellent gin. Full of complex botanicals, primarily plant based such as pine and grapefruit.
The taste changes on the palate and lasts in the mouth.
Really full and exciting!

Excellent gin with pine and grapefruit

A very good everyday gin with lovely grapefruit notes. Amazed by the negative reviews on here, really!

Cleaning product

Bought a bottle over Christmas, what a dissapointment it taste like bleach, very over powering

Incredible Flavour - juniper and citrus!

I love this gin’s flavour. There’s so much going on but the juniper/pine and citrus stand tallest. Fantastic in a g+t and a martini. Bravo!

Ordered a bottle and instantly regretted the spend from the first taste. Foosty. Only gin I have had that has hazy louche, which makes me wonder, is this lazy distilling from Brewdog? Very poor offering from a brand that claims to be bold & taking over. Expect a lot better, particularly for the price.

Pre mixed can - tasted like cleaning product

Wasn’t great tbh

Was excited to try this Gin after visiting a Brewdog bar. Disappointed with the finish of the Gin, leaves a very distinct bitter taste. Expected it to be different as it’s Brewdog heading it up, but dissapointing. I’ll stick to their beer!

Pine Indeed

Pine pine and more pine! Initial whack of pine, very earthy. Slightly dissapointed in this one, it seems rushed by Brewdog dog.

9th August 2018

Pine pulls through!

After the initial botanicals when swirled around the palate Lone Wolf has a decidedly earthy, almost foosty note which takes me straight back to my great aunt's wash house! Not unpleasant but decidedly different. I would expect nothing less from Brew Dog.

Good everyday drink

This is a good enough gin for a mass produced product, but its some way off the top class of some other Scottish gins available on the market. Competing with the likes of Gordons it may struggle for market share, but we'll see.

One of the Best Gins Ever

So glad I tried this Gin after a recommendation from a friend! Opened the bottle on Friday Night and it was gone by the end of Saturday night!

8th February 2018

Fabulous Gin!

Clean, smooth and balanced. The hazy louche gives away its great quality when the tonic hits the gin!

My friend brought me a bottle from Scotland. Loved it! Juniper and pine are bold and the citrus balances with them wonderfully. Complex and not lost in tonic at all, my kind of gin!
