Kyrö Gin Bottling Note

The "Adventurous Rye Rye Gentlemen" at the Kyrö Distillery in Isokyrö, Finland produce their very own gin using rye grain and the finest botanicals which give off a nose rich in meadow sweet, citrus, cumin and juniper. To follow it up, the palate develops subtle leafy and refreshing menthol notes. Top work, you adventurous Rye Rye Gentlemen!

Looking for a great gin for a G&T? Kyrö Gin was the inaugural winner of the IWSC Gin & Tonic Trophy in 2015!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: A soft and succulent blend of creamy vanilla and angelica leads with help from deep, concentrated notes of juniper. An understated pink peppercorn spice sharpens orange blossom, among a herbal twinge of coriander root and cardamom seed.

Palate: The palate adds more floral and perfumed qualities, Parma Violets and a touch of rich heather, among bolder kicks of spice, which include a little cinnamon. Some marzipan icing develops with tinges of fresh lemon.

Finish: Quite short and impressively delicate.

Overall: An impressively mature, understated gin, reminiscent of classic styles.

Kyrö Gin Reviews

Delicate, Surprising and Well Balanced - Phenomenal

A gin of many characters: a slight astringency similar to the character you'd expect from a rye whiskey - yet aromatic, with heady aromas of pine and cooling menthol on the finish.
Long on the palate and an absolute (and particularly sophisticated feeling) pleasure.
Pairs nicely with both quinine heavy AND sweeter/more fruity tonic waters.
A real world beater.

Love it

Love love love it! This gin is my favourite all time. It has just the right amount of floral notes along with that wonderful juniper taste. Neat but great with elderflower tonic too.

As a juniper junkie and owner of a gin bar boasting more gin than is really necessary (lol), this has got to be my all time favourite...closely followed by Boatyard gin.
Napue is what I recommend to gin novices and seasoned drinkers as it is suitable for most paletes, can be mixed or enjoyed neat. I personally drink it with a big wedge of grapefruit, juniper berries and a good tonic or a wafting of lemonade over lots of ice. I have converted some of our die hard Botanist and Deaths Door fans to this little gem and they have never looked back!! I usually buy one for my business and one for myself when buying from here...well it's just got to be done! :-)
Enjoy!!! xxx

We made Paris 75 cocktails with this gin. Wow! This is a delight to the senses, especially as summer starts.

Best of the best - a necessity

My go to gin, best of the best, what's always in the drinks cupboard. I drink it neat on the rocks. The rye is something special - it's not like you can taste it necessarily, but it's very fresh. Like an early autumn morning - you know what I mean?? I would wager it's vegan friendly (because these days I'm really sensitive to that sort of thing).

The best gin I have ever had. Perfect for a G&T. Herno, Plymouth and Tanquerey 10 are all fantastic but this is the best in my humble opinion. Sweet and smooth. Would recommend to purists too although I prefer with tonic.

Seriously good!!!

Outstanding! An excellent selection of botanicals makes this one of the best gins I have ever tasted. So fragrant and smooth neat. It seems a shame to add tonic, but just don't add too much! The flavour is awesome with or without. 5 stars to Finland for creating a masterpiece!

19th May 2018

A most flavourful gin indeed!

I tried this at a tasting festival in Singapore and it has to be one of the most flavourful gins I've tried in a long time. I'll be seeking out this again for sure...

8th April 2018

Gin perfection

The tasting above does not do this gin justice. I first had this on a fishing trip in Lapland. Considering all the superb recent additions into the Gin world, Napue is without question the best I have ever had the good fortune to taste.

10th March 2018

Best Sipping Gin

I put this up against Monkey 47 in a tasting. Napue hands down big winner

Napue vs. Koskue - finlandês. Koskue - more intensive

Napue vs Koskue:
This is more for the sensitive hearts; others will pick Koskue. But seriously, both have more taste than basic pure, all day gin. As such I would not personally mix this with anything. (Both/) It is a gin to take straight for the taste, not more than a teaspoon once. With Koskue I got fed up like this at the end of the bottle, so go and mix; but start tasting as pure: both.

12th October 2017

Best ever

Wow!! What can you say about a Gin that speaks for itself. Some friends from Finland bought a bottle for us from home. The best gin we have ever tasted by far.

1st September 2017

Number one

Haven't been the friend of gin but after tasting Napue I met a new friend

11th August 2017

As fresh as it can get

The best gin I've ever tried, with or without tonic water. There should be a picture of Napue gin with the word fresh in the dictionary.

6th May 2017

The best gin I have ever had.

Had this gin and tonic drink every day while in Finland. Excellent. Very refreshing drink.

14th April 2017

Springtime in a bottle

We had this Gin for the first time on a trip to Tampere, Finland. The legend is real, though we had not heard it before arrival. It tastes fresher and more like spring than any Gin we've ever had. Our gin snob friends back in the states agreed when we shared bottles of our discovery.

Too spicy and bland to my taste. Hard to counter the spice.

17th October 2016

8th September 2016

A fantastic gin

Napue gin is by far the best gin I've tasted. Very smooth and nice taste, which makes a great gin & tonic! The bottle is also beautiful.

4th August 2016

Finnair G&T Discovery - Napue

This is absolutely the most delicious gin I have ever tasted - even better than Hendrick's! Served in Business Class on Finnair international flight and so "moreish" I am endeavouring to have my own supply at home in Sydney!

4th August 2016

Great drink!

Love it with cranberry!

25th July 2016

I was introduced to this phenomenal tasting gin at a May Day party and this might be the best gin I have ever tasted. Thanks and great work.

2nd May 2016

Absolutely the best ever gin. Have just returned from Finland where I was introduced to Napue Gin. It engages coriander with other herbs and is so very aromatic.

Long live Napue Gin

2nd January 2016

Top gin

Best gin I ever had. Amazingly gentle and full of flavors

27th November 2015

Stunning flavours

Happened on Napue by accident travelling between Sweden and Finland. Best gin with tonic I've had and friends agree.

18th November 2015

I enjoy my Napue Gin "President Kekkonen style"

Finnair flight attendant on Finnair's flight to Shanghai recommended me to try Napue Gin "President Kekkonen style": Napue, a couple of ice cubes and half a dozen common sea-bucthorn berries. No tonic to spoil the sophisticated taste of Napue and lots of Vitamin C! If you do not happen have sea-buckthorn berries you can try Finnish lingonberries or cloudberries as an alternative.

11th November 2015

Absolutely fantastic!

Absolutisti fantastic gin with tonic, plenty of Ice, rosemary and coupé of icy Cranberries.

3rd November 2015

Best Gin in the world!

29th October 2015

As a confirmed gin drinker, I have never tasted anything like this before; it is divine, either on its own or mixed. Extremely highly recommended. PS It is always 'out of stock' in Finland so if you mnage to get a bottle, thank for your lucky stars.

27th October 2015

The Gin

Absolutely the best I have ever taste!

5th September 2015

Just sampled this one with a bunch of good friends. Very smooth, can taste the cranberry and birch notes. We let it air for a little while, and the flavor developed even further. Flowery notes, and the Rye finish came on strong. Wish this was available locally here in the US!

8th August 2015

I enjoyed this gin. It tastes smooth and leaves a nice aftertaste. Crazy expensive so no full points.

1st August 2015

From Napue region

This gin slightly changes the tradition of gin, but not to a worse direction! Oikein hyvä G&T

29th July 2015

This gin works with lemon, lime and cucumber. Best G&T ever!

25th July 2015

incredible taste. Tastier than any other.

23rd July 2015

Great gin

A great gin indeed and now also recognized at International Wine and Spirit Competition.

23rd July 2015

A winner!

I had a bottle of this in my bar cabinet for a while. Made a couple of G&T's and they turned out great. The next thing I know it's announced the best gin for a G&T of 2015! Great stuff!

22nd July 2015

It's Gin...rite?

Ouch...The distillate it was made with is not really high in quality I think, a lot of raw elements there. On top of this, there's the basic Juniper and a lot of cumin, spices which unfortunately have not been integrated very well into the spirit either. I do feel that it is more of a 'homemade' experiment than a ready product. For this price, many a better options exist.

30th May 2015

so fresh

this Gin is outstanding, easy on the juniper and complex in the botanicals it has wonderful spring like floral feel.

11th March 2015

Distinct personality

I had it with tonic and am pleased to say that Napue gin has very distinct personality as compared to London dry gins. Less juniper, more fresh botanicals. Some resemblance to the fantastic Hendricks gin. Great!

15th December 2014

Well Rounded and well finished

beautiful gin made with a great selection of botanicals that make a unique one to try again and again

6th December 2014

Very unique taste of botanicals

18th November 2014

A wonderful range of natural flavours

I had the pleasure to meet a couple of the makers and sample this along with their 4-month old Rye Whisky at an event in Tokyo yesterday.

The whisky naturally will require more years to mature but this Gin is lovely as is.
Using local botanicals they have created a layered and delightful spirit.

17th November 2014

this is good!
