KURO Gin Bottling Note

A Japanese-inspired London dry gin innovatively crafted at Cheshire Distillery in the UK using botanicals from the Land of the Rising Sun – think silver birch bark, spruce needles and bamboo-activated charcoal. 'KURO' translates from Japanese as 'black', a nod to idea being born at the top of a black ski run whilst on a trip to Japan. The pair behind the concept hope the earthy, aromatic spirit evokes the Hakuba Valley's alpine slopes.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Green, woody and refreshingly crisp – just like a sunny Japanese morning out on the pistes.

Palate: Juniper is more prominent here. A toasty, earthy quality comes through but not at the expense of the classic airy citrus – KURO still retains a London dry character.

Finish: Long, warm and smooth – with more of those earthy woods.

Overall: A complex, wood-led twist on the well-known, well-loved London dry style.

KURO Gin Reviews

Deliciously Different

It’s amazing. Much more earthy and aromatic compared to other gins. Super smooth texture and makes a great martini.
