Salt Marsh Gin TBGC Bottling Note

Greensand Ridge have created another smashing gin for That Boutique-y Gin Company - this time taking inspiration from the salt marshes of Whitstable. A flavoursome, subtly savoury gin, featuring botanicals that you would find in those aforementioned salt marshes.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose The nose is light, but there’s plenty of salt – and a little marsh. The juniper is floral, teeming with lavender and bay leaves. A mossy earthiness persists underneath, along with warming cardamom, vibrant grapefruit peel and liquorice root.

Palate The palate is huge, mouth-filling, oily and complex. Spicy juniper and black pepper prickle through salted grapefruit and a little sweet orange blossom. Creamy angelica carries with it herbaceous notes of aromatic coriander and pine.

Finish Incredibly long and lingering, with firm woody spices concluding this reassuringly heavy expression.

Overall Totally singular and brilliantly concocted – you’ve never had a gin like this before.

Highly enjoyable
A seriously tasty gin when served over ice. Tang of the marshes in tge name with a smooth finish.

Quality
Marshmallow, white chocolate, grassy olive and a hint of ocean air - this stuff is magic.

Restrained herbaceous gin
This makes a great dirty martini. Also a very dry pink gin. Not so keen with tonic water. Weirdly good with soda. Bought in the sale a bargain.

Delicious!
Bought as a gift for a friend and he kindly cracked it open to share with a few of us. We all enjoyed it. Expected it to somehow taste more “briny” given the name and description but really we all got hints of citrus kind of flavours on the first few sips and just tasted like a really well rounded gin. Would happily buy another bottle for myself!
