Cobnut Ghost Gin - TBGC Bottling Note

It's That Boutique-y Gin Company's first bottling of London dry gin from Greensand Ridge! This wonderful micro-distillery in Kent make some cracking spirits, and do so with careful consideration of sustainability. However, the squirrels of Kent didn't seem to give two nuts about that - all they cared about is getting their paws on the cobnuts that were going in this gin, along with the surplus raspberries too! Luckily, the battalion was shooed away, leaving Greensand Ridge to make this tip-top tipple.

This is a release of 460 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Immediate raspberry influence, followed by mint and basil leaf. Chestnuts and light wafts of sweet juniper.

Palate The soft, creamy spirit carries waves of summer berry and orange peel notes. Anise and savoury hints of cobnuts in support.

Finish Slightly floral. Blackberry bush and menthol linger.

Overall It was definitely well worth Greensand Ridge's effort of keeping the battalion of squirrels at bay to make this tasty gin was.

Great if you have more money than sense
I like this, it's pleasant enough and makes a great pre dinner G&T. Price point is a bit ambitious, you can do better for less of an outlay

Definitely one for the favourite list
Was given this for Christmas it’s wonderful, citrus, raspberry subtle hit of juniper. I thought my favourite gin was Hidden curiosity but this comes a very, very close second. Definitely recommend if you want something different yet refreshing to drink.

Life altering gin
This is the best gin I’ve ever had. We got a dram of it in an advent calendar. It is amazing. Sadly, we cannot get it in the States.

Does what it says on the tin
Well this is very different. Tastes like a dry gin with an after taste of raspberry. Very delicate and very nice.
Drank mine with premium tonic and raspberries and a slice of orange.

POW! RASPBERRIES!
The nose of this stuff is simply incredible. It's like the very best Eau de Vie you could imagine, but underpinned with a hefty hefty dose of Juniper that makes it immediately apparent that this is a gin. Great stuff - I made a MArtini with this, garnished with Orange peel and never looked back.
