All the way from Mallorca comes Green Citrus Gin, produced for That Boutique-y Gin Company by Gin Eva! Ever the intrepid explorers of flavour, the Gin Eva team has created an expression using green citrus. No, not lime. That would be far too easy. They've used the somewhat confusingly named green orange! Produced along with mandarin leaves and a selection of familiar botanicals, the sweet and bitter green oranges impart a zest, floral and subtly herbaceous flavour profile.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sugared lemon and orange peel sweetness bring citric tones initially, before key lime pie adds a creamy element. Tart grapefruit emerges with a subtle prickle of spicy juniper.
Palate
Green notes bring depth to the palate through sugar kelp, crushed coriander and pine-y juniper. Bitter orange, grapefruit and makrut lime leaves demonstrate a progression from sweeter citrus aromas. A flicker of eastern spice and subtly coastal tones linger.
Finish
Boiled lime sweets remain as the herbal and spice elements fade.
Overall
