Edinburgh Christmas Gin

A festive gin from the Edinburgh Gin chaps, made with two classic Christmassy botanicals - frankincense and myrrh. The result is good as gold, with an aromatic, fragrant nose and a warming palate with hints of orange blossom and cooking spices. Fantastic in a G&T and other classic cocktails - perfect for a Christmas Eve tipple.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Well-perfumed, with elegant wafts of lavender, lemon and pine needle.

Palate Clove-studded orange, floral perfume again, a refreshing hint of honeydew melon, nutmeg.

Finish A lasting whisper of peppery juniper and honey.

Reviews for Edinburgh Christmas Gin
Gorgeous stuff
Bought as a Christmas present for me. I think it’s absolutely delicious with wonderful orange notes. I wouldn’t know what frankincense or myrrh taste like but individually but they make for an amazing mix. I’ve bought more since my introduction to this lovely gin.

Not particularly Christmas-y or good.
This gin was disappointing. When you advertise a gin as having a seasonal bouquet but then it winds up having less character than a traditional dry gin, it feels misleading. Save your money and your expectations.

True essences of frankincense and myrrh in this gin
Anyone reviewing this who says it's "just an ordinary gin" simply doesn't know what frankincense and myrrh smell (or taste) like. These are ancient resins, made famous by the Christmas story of course, that do have a distinct smell, and taste. As someone who is very familiar with both of them, I can assure you I was amazed to detect both of them in this gin -- subtly but definitely, and beautifully -- because too much would be overwhelming! Here's my challenge -- go obtain some of each (they're commonly found in shops), burn them, and then try this and see for yourself. It's amazing.

Gimmick
After you realise it’s a normal dry Gin with a small hint of flavour you may as well buy the cheapest gin as it’s the same as this stuff
