Cardiff Dry Gin comes from the Eccentric Gin chaps in Wales, and it's a traditionally juniper-forward expression with helpings of citrus and black pepper in tow. Great in a G&T garnished with mint.
A big helping of juniper sits at the core, while oily lemon notes develop. Peppercorn and a touch of leafy herbs in the background.
This is the 'new' Cardiff gin and lacks the liquorice noted in the reviews prior to 2021.
Not even made in Cardiff, but nearly 100 miles away .. now that is Eccentric ! Very Liquorice and an acquired taste.. the powerful Liquorice does overpower everything else..
Love this gin, it has a unique flavour and lacks the synthetic taste that so many newcomer gins seem to have. First tried it at the open market in Cardiff and it was described as a bit of a marmite gin as some people don’t like the liquorice notes.
I absolutely love it... Its my Fav gin of all time. I first tried it in the bay at a gin festival about 5 years go when visiting my daughter. Ive been hooked ever since. You can forget all your fancy gins.. This one is a true gem. My only problem is I can never buy it anywhere. I'm a Shropshire lass and its nowhere to be seen here. My partner surprised me with a bottle for Christmas. It's lush!!!
Outstanding gin. Loved the intense flavour of liquoice and fennel and herbs with citrussy notes, which I picked before reading the label. Love it. It was a gift but will order for anyone I know who has an occasion. And me of course !!!!!
