Citadelle

A premium gin, Citadelle was originally developed in a Dunkirk distillery in the late 18th Century, and at the time Dunkirk was one of the earliest European ports for explorers of the Orient, who brought back herbs and spices from the Far East. The result is a fabulous gin made with 19 different botanicals including Moroccan Coriander, French Juniper, Mexican Orange Peel and Chinese Liquorice...

Reviews for Citadelle Gin
One to try
Great for a G & T but steer clear of fevertree too sweet & overpowers the gin mix

Worth the money. An honest gin but, a neutral tonic is required
A neutral tonic and a slice of lemon and you have a terrific GnT.

Harsh, stale and overall uninteresting
I see a lot of great reviews everywhere for this gin. It either must have dropped significantly in quality, or maybe it's just not my kind of gin. Tried it first time in 2022 and it's very harsh, with weak aromas and stale flavour. Terrible on its own and completely disappeared in a G&T with Fever Tree. The Martinis are again harsh and unnuanced. Martinis made with Absolut Vodka are even much tastier. I made a Martini made of Tanqueray no 10 right after a Citadelle Martini, then it become very obvious how harsh and uninteresting this gin is. Something must have happened down the road. Will never buy this again. Any bottom shelf gin is better than this.

Nice strong clean gin
Fantastic mixer with Pellegrino grapefruit. Crisp and clean.

Pleasant, clean gin
Very wet, friendly, floral gin. Very French. Definitely not bold enough for tonic though, so steer toward something more punchy if you're intending to mix.

Riche et délicieux
Superbe gin, complexe et raffiné, fruité/floral/épicé, à cheval entre les old schools et la nouvelle vague, que j'aurais dû acheter et découvrir bien plus tôt que cela!

Clean, Crisp, Floral
Ultra smooth with plenty of floral. It also makes an outstanding Gin & Tonic with Fever Tree.

World-Class Flavor
I love Gin, and this is the best I've ever tasted. If you are looking for a crisp, smooth, complex Gin, look no further. I would not recommend using it as a mixer, though. It does not do well in a Gin & Tonic.

One of the smoothest Gins I've had the pleasure of tasting. A great aperatif, when you have the time to relax and take in all the flavours.
