Chapel Down Bacchus Gin

Those folks over at English winery Chapel Down seem to love exploring things which are not wine as much as things that are very much wine. Y'see, they've only gone and made their own bloomin' gin! They make the base spirit for this tipple using the skins of bacchus grapes from their own vineyards, and combine it with juniper, orange peel, lemon, lavender, elderflower, orris, angelica and coriander.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Incredibly aromatic and refreshing, with floral notes standing up well against spicier hints of juniper and coriander.

Reviews for Chapel Down Bacchus Gin
Beautiful
A lovely gin paired with fever tree tonic.

About as refined a gin as you can find.
Clean and fresh with tonic, and a hands down knockout winner in a Martini with Noilly Pratt. Exceptionally crisp but not overwhelming.

Clever gin
This is amazingly smooth like an altitude or silent pool and has a really nice aftertaste ... as if you could drink this neat and not be too fazed by it. Very clever gin.

Not for us
Beautiful bottle but sadly, very bland contents. However, looking at the other reviews (the ones we used as the basis of our purchase) we are in the minority. Each to their own as they say

Definitely on my favourites list
Paired with a slice of lime and Fevertree original, sublime

Juniper +++ If you like a real gin.
A very 'juniper forward' gin. Like it a lot. Use a good quality Indian Tonic with it, no lemon, no cucumber etc etc just ice. £41.95 is too high a price - even for this great English gin. Grab it when it is on offer. Can't go wrong. For the purist.

Delicious Gin
I really like this Gin - much more so than their vodka. £27 is a good price but the original price of £41 is High . This is available direct from Chapel Down for £32

Love these guys
Beautiful gin, but the bottle is even more beautiful! It would be worth buying just for how it looks, but it makes a pretty mean G&T as well.

Excellent
An excellent Gin. Love the winery and many of their wines - the gin is different and a great alternative to many others available.
