Blackwater No.5 Gin Bottling Note

Blackwater No. 5 Gin is made in West Waterford, Ireland, by the Blackwater Distillery (which was set up by Peter Mulryan in 2015). Using their beautiful 300-litre still, charmingly named Sally, the Blackwater Distillery makes their No.5 Gin using a selection of 12 botanicals, including juniper, nutmeg, liquorice, coriander and cinnamon. You get plenty of the cinnamon and citrus coming through on the nose and palate, with touches of spice bringing a comforting warmth to the exciting flavour profile.

Best gin
I think of myself as a bit of a gin connoisseur!! 😉 By god its the best gin I've ever tasted. I had more of the expensive ones but this is my no. 1.. World wide. Unless I taste a better, I'll let you know. Worth every cent and sip.

Had this last night in The Venue in Perth, lovely fresh gin. Came here to get a bottle but sold out! 😫

A real sipper
This is a gin clean and smooth enough to drink neat or with just ice. Lovely mouthfeel and bright full flavours.

Superb Irish Gin
Has to make one of the best G&T's ever. Spicy with a lovely long finish.

Flat and unimpressive
Disappointing. Hot in the mouth, no real flavor. Tried sipping, waiting, but it had no pizzazz. Made the mistake of putting it in a gin tonic, after reading a review that it opens up well in that scenario, and I could no longer taste it at all.

Maybe next time #5.

Quintessential London Dry
Love this No.5, its a little 50cl ditty that swells in after notes. Definitely one for the front of the cabinet.
