BeauFort VS Smoked OP Gin

A fascinating gin from BeauFort, giving homage to the story behind Navy Strength gin. It's said that gunpowder soaked in spirit above a certain ABV (around 57%) would still ignite. Indeed, this gin has been bottled at 57%, but it has also been infused with smoked oak and hickory as botanicals, alongside spicy Szechwan pepper and pink pepper, as well as more traditional gin botanicals. This should spark your imagination for some flashy cocktails.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Softly smoky and savoury, though a whisper of citrus keeps it from becoming too heavy.

Different, special, beautiful smoke notes cut through with citrus.
Beaufort Gin is something rather different and to me quite special. On the nose there is immediate citrus, then smoke blooms out of the glass. On the palate there is a complexity, smooth by smoke and cut by citrus, on the finish the spice rolls in beautifully. For me it's definitely one to sip with ice, but there are some really interesting cocktail uses here too.
