Alkkemist
Alkkemist Gin features a base of triple-distilled grain spirit and 21 different botanicals, interestingly including Muscat grape, alongside orange and lemon peel, rose petals, samphire, fennel, thyme and mint, among others. Also, it's apparently "distilled by the light of the full moon"! A wonderfully-presented gin that works excellently in a G&T as well as a number of cocktails.
Lemon peel, lavender, apple blossom, a touch of fennel.
Fruit notes rush to the fore, with grape sweetness intact. Supporting notes come from clove, peppery juniper and a floral waft of rose.
Subtle salinity of samphire paired with juicy orange.
I own over 70 gins and this one, acquired recently, was a revelation. It makes for an extremely good g&t (with an orange slice and 1724 tonic) and an even better Negroni, with the following cohorts: 1/3 each of Alkkemist, Bonal vermouth and Aperol. Simply amazing.
This gin is amazing, it so smooth you could sip down a whole bottle. You really get all the flavors - the rose petals which are in good balance and not too overpowering (as they could easily be), a slight coolness from the mint and then that warm citrus and herb spice at the end. This gin really stands out, I bought a whole bottle after tasting it.
in the ever-growing world of specialist gins this is a gin of beauty... Perfect on its own, on a little ice, the botanicals shine through and the bouquet is exceptional.-not overpowering but fragrant and persistent, delicately lingering on the palate. Highly recommended.
