Metté Pêche (Peach) Bottling Note

Fragrant and subtly sweet, this Peach Eau de Vie from Metté would make for an excellent cocktail ingredient, or be enjoyed neat as you would a delicious whisky, taking in every nuance from its aromas. Ace.

PRIMO
I first had Peche at a small spanish cafe' in Wiesbaden W. Germany back in 1990 while my companions and I waited for our Warsteiner Pils to be pulled/poured. There is always an entertaining debate on how long it takes to pour the perfect Warsteiner (6.5 min. IMO) from the tap, but who cares when the bartender/owner insist that you drink Peche while you wait. My friends (and the barkeep) played a simple card game to determine who would pay for the next round. Trust that there are no losers when you are drinking shots (big ones) of Peche and Warsteiner together...

I haven't had any Peche since that beautiful summer of 1990 but I can still smell and taste it. I can hardly wait to get my hands on this again as it is truly a nectar from the Gods.

If you imagine the juiciest fresh peaches picked and then sensually squeezed by beautiful naked women who take turns serving it to you neat from their sweet mouths in a long sensual kiss, then you can almost imagine how fantastic and pleasurable it is to experience Peche if you haven't already...

Gorgeous.
You wouldn't suspect a clear spirit is capable of this much complexity. You can taste everything from bright fresh peach, all the way through to the subtle, planty taste of the skins on the finish, which lasts for some time. A freshly emptied glass has a superb nose of clover honey and nectarine. This is serious #%?$ing booze, and it's a shame that Eau de Vie doesn't gain more respect among spirits lovers in North America. Its only fault is that the nose is slightly pungent. About half a teaspoon kicks ass in dessert coffees and hot chocolate.
