Wilson & Morgan is an independent whisky bottler that was established in 1992 and specialises in Scotch whisky. The brand has a strict profile: only single malt whisky from 10 to 30 years of maturation with some cask finishes in Port, rum, or Marsala casks.
The story of Wilson & Morgan actually began in Italy with the Venetian family of the Rossis. In the 1920s, wine and oil merchant Giuseppe Rossi settled in Treviso and set up shop, a business that his son Mario took over and expanded after the Second World War. The company thrived in the post-war years and by the 1960s had started to import whisky from Scotland, eventually dealing in only premium blended Scotch by the 1970s, bought directly from Scotch whisky distilleries.
It was Mario’s sons, Fabio and Walter, who took the brand in the direction of single malt whisky. Current chairman Fabio recalls that strong smell of peat in the family home as a child and learned the secrets of the trade from his father. As an oenologist, who studied and mastered the art of wine-making in Conegliano, Italy, he personally selects all Wilson & Morgan to his one golden rule: "Trust your palate and your instinct."
