Produced in the Jalisco Highlands of Mexico, Teremana is crafted in small batches, focusing on sustainable and traditional production methods. The brand name "Teremana" is derived from Latin and Polynesian roots, meaning "spirit of the earth," reflecting both its connection to nature and Johnson’s heritage.
Teremana tequila is made using 100% blue weber agave, which is slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens before being distilled in handmade copper pot stills. The brand currently offers two main varieties:
Teremana Blanco: A crisp and fresh tequila with strong agave flavours, along with citrus and herbaceous notes. It’s smooth with a clean finish, making it versatile for cocktails or sipping.
Teremana Reposado: Aged in oak barrels for a minimum of two months, the Reposado has richer flavours with notes of vanilla, oak, and a slight sweetness, while still maintaining the agave-forward profile.
The brand also prides itself on its environmentally conscious practices, including a focus on sustainability in the production process, such as using leftover agave fibres as compost and water filtration systems to minimise waste.
