QuiQuiRiQui Mezcal

QuiQuiRiQui, in Oaxaca, is known for its mezcal. Melanie Symonds founded it in 2011. She was drawn to mezcal's rich, smoky flavour in Mexico. Her passion led her to create QuiQuiRiQui. The brand works with families who have made mezcal for generations. This ensures the craft's knowledge and traditions are kept alive.

The Mezcal focuses on sustainability and social responsibility. The distillery uses eco-friendly practices and supports local communities. They source agave from sustainable plantations. This prevents over-harvesting of agave, which can take 8 to 30 years to mature.

To make the Mezcal, they roast agave hearts, or “piñas”, in pit ovens with volcanic rock. This roasting lasts several days. Then, the piñas are crushed and naturally fermented. This process keeps mezcal's robust, smoky, and complex flavours.

QuiQuiRiQui offers different mezcals. Each one has a unique flavour, depending on the agave type and production methods. This allows both experts and new drinkers to explore a range of tastes and aromas. They can discover the richness and depth of this exquisite spirit.
