This unique style of London dry gin was created at G&J Distillers by master gin distiller, Joanne Moore. Opihr Gin is named after the legendary port from which King Solomon, wise king of Israel, was said to receive a bountiful cargo of apes, gold, ivory, peacocks, pearls, sandalwood and silver - every three years.
An aromatic take on the premium gin category, Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin traces a heritage back to ancient spice routes, where intrepid merchants from distant lands would carry exotic spices and botanicals thousands of miles.
Today, Opihr uses hand-picked botanicals including black pepper from India, spicy cubeb berries from Indonesia and coriander from Morocco, which are then are married with fine English spirit at G&J Distillers to produce an exotic and unique type of gin.
