Isle of Harris Distillery

The Isle of Harris Distillery is a Scotch whisky and gin producer based in Tarbert on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. Founded in 2015, it is known for Isle of Harris Gin, The Hearach single malt, and newer whisky releases including oloroso cask and Croft Strength expressions.

The distillery calls itself the Social Distillery, which is not just nice wording for a visitor centre mug. It was created with local employment and long-term island resilience in mind, giving Harris a working distillery rooted in the community rather than a brand that simply borrowed a postcode and a moody photo of a coastline.

Isle of Harris Gin arrived first and became the calling card. It is made with nine botanicals, including hand-harvested sugar kelp from the Outer Hebrides, giving the gin its subtle coastal character. The whisky followed after years of production and patience. The Hearach is distilled, matured and bottled on the island, lightly peated, bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and made with no artificial colouring.

The range now gives you both sides of Harris: bright maritime gin and island single malt with proper production detail behind it.
