Ingenio la Cabana Rum

La Cabaña Rum Distillery in El Salvador is famous for its Single Cask Rums and Cask Finishes. It started in 1927 when Moisés Seinjet, a Romanian, came to the Valle del Cauca. He began selling 'panela', a type of unrefined sugar, in Buga.

For over 60 years, the distillery has been making and selling sugars and honey. They focus on innovation, meeting customer needs, and high-quality projects. La Cabaña is known for its strong commitment to social responsibility.

Their goal is to be world-renowned for their products, services, and environmental management. The distillery is 48 km from Cali. It's modern and known for sugarcane products. Its story goes back to 1956.

The distillery's start was in 1930 when Seinjet and the Pellman brothers planted sugarcane. By 1944, Seinjet had set up La Cabaña. Despite initial challenges, he focused on sugarcane. This led to his sugar mill in 1953.

La Cabaña has grown over the years. They got new machinery in 1954 and helped start Asocaña in 1959. Seinjet was awarded for his work in 1983. In 2010, they built a refined sugar facility with a capacity of over 400 tonnes a day.

The distillery also produces natural energy. It contributes to clean energy cogeneration in its area.

A key part of La Cabaña is Licorera Cihuatán S.A. DE C.V., set up in 2004. This division in El Salvador makes Cihuatán Rum. They use local sugarcane and molasses. The rum is distilled in column stills and aged in former bourbon barrels for at least eight years. It's known for its quality and has won international praise.
