6 o’Clock Gin’s story begins around 30 years ago, when Edward and Penny Kain owned a fruit farm. Though it wasn’t just fruit on the farm, on the side the couple made fruit liqueurs and they were pretty successful. A few years later, their children Michael and Felicity took over the distillery and set about perfecting the gin recipe. The fruit hasn’t been forgotten, as alongside the classic gin there’s a variety of damson and sloe gins.
The name 6 o'Clock is a nod to the family's great grandfather who was an inventor, engineer and gin lover who would settle down with a gin and tonic at 6pm each day for some inspiration.
