Painturaud Frères
A beautiful example of old-school Grande Champagne finesse from Maison Painturaud Frères, a family house now in its fourth generation. This Vieille Réserve is elegant yet indulgent, brimming with fruit, vanilla, and the signature depth of long-aged eau-de-vie from Segonzac.
Intense notes of vanilla, dried branches, and oak spice, underpinned by gentle rancio.
Smooth and rounded with mature fruit and honeyed warmth.
Long, velvety, and sweet, ideal as a digestif or paired with chocolate.

Good for my first old cognac purchase. Didn’t feel pretentious, just polished and real.
Finally cracked this bottle on a quiet evening. The colour is rich amber with golden highlights. On tasting it’s soft and mellow: really mature fruit, smooth mouth-feel, lingering gently. A very refined pour
