Jean-Luc Pasquet 2017 (bottled 2023) (cask 72) - Collective #1: The Pioneers (Berry Bros. & Rudd)
The only Cognac from the Collective #1: The Pioneers series from Berry Bros. & Rudd. The range launched in 2023 as a means to celebrate environmentally conscious brands. The Pasquet family was one of the first to embrace organic farming practices in Cognac production, being awarded the Agriculture Biologique status in 1998. This particular Cognac is from the Petite Champagne region and was aged in a single Limousin oak cask before it was bottled up at 40% ABV with no chill-filtration or colouring.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Aromas of luscious, aged Sauternes and fruit sorbet drift from the glass, building with time into a crisp minerality.
Palate
The palate is heavenly. Flavours of fruit salad chews, peach skins, apricots, and mango all with a squirt of lime juice, dance with perfect balance massaging the senses.
Finish
Peach, bubble gum and sweet sake notes linger on the finish.
Overall
This is exceptional and a prime example of a meticulous producer working in tandem with nature to create a world-class spirit.
